This post is the first in a series about our road trip around Ireland.
In May we met up with my parents to take a road trip through Northern Ireland and Ireland. At this point we were seasoned road trippers and easily put together an itinerary, but with only five days, it would be fast paced. The plan was simple: pick up my parents from the airport, head north, and drive a giant loop around the island. We had a list of things we wanted to see and we would improvise the rest.
From Dublin to Bushmills with a stop at Newgrange to experience the prehistoric tomb.
A morning exploring Giant’s Causeway before heading down the Great Atlantic Way.
The Great Atlantic Way – coming soon
Drive along the Great Atlantic Way through Donegal and Sligo to Galway, continuing through Galway along the coast past Blackhead to the Cliffs of Moher before hitting the Kerry Ring.
Ring of Kerry – coming soon
A casual drive along the Ring of Kerry (and Ring of Skellig).
Cork to Dublin with a stop at Blarney Castle – coming soon
A brief stop at Blarney Castle (no we didn’t kiss the stone) before heading back to Dublin.
We will be sharing more on each of these legs over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for them.
